National Love Day is an emotional day on so many levels. Some of us were satisfied with the gift(s) we received; while others spent the day feeling overwhelmed about the gifts they were given!!!

Some spent the day disappointed that they did not get the gift(s) they expected; while others were left feeling depressed about not getting anything.

The Morning After is here, and for many of us, life has returned to normal. People are back on their grind, and refocusing on the things that are most important. Some people are regretting the amount of money they spent… all in the name of love!!! Others are thinking about those extra calories they wasted just for one day!!!

Let’s ask ourselves “was it worth exhausting all of our energy and time riding on an emotional roller coaster for one day of romance?”

The Morning After is here and for many relationships, the deep dark issues are still unresolved. The Morning After is here, and tonight you will be home alone. Some will have company, and yet be home alone.

The Morning After is here and you have to decide how to move past yesterday. I was in a relationship that left me facing the Morning After. I was expecting someone else to make me happy. I was so wrong!!! I was looking for love in all the wrong places and all the wrong ways!!! My boyfriend waited until the last-minute to go shopping for LOVE Day. Needless to say, everything was picked over, and he made a purchase without putting any thought or creativity into my gift.

The box was beautifully wrapped, and my excitement was over the top!!! When I opened the gift, I got the shock of a lifetime!!! I was hurt and disappointed to the point that I remember crying myself to sleep!!!

Long story short, the Morning After came, and I survived!!! I had to choose whether to wallow in self-pity or move forward.

My decision was to buy my own gift “to me from me”, and NOT LOOK BACK!!!

Here are 5 helpful lessons when faced with the Morning After:

1. Accept the fact that holidays come and holidays are gone – the Morning After is coming and you will live through it.

2. Find happiness within yourself 365 days a year – the Morning After is coming and you can smile rather than cry about yesterday.

3. Take time to love yourself daily – the Morning After is coming and you can celebrate yourself, rather than looking for others to give you “materialistic” love.

4. Embrace each day as a time to bless someone else – the Morning Afteris coming and you will feel great about helping others.

5. Remember that yesterday’s emotional roller coaster is over – the Morning After is here and it doesn’t matter what you got or did not get.

The Morning After brings a fresh wind that allows us to press the reset button when we lose focus on what is most important.

Embrace the Morning After with excitement and energy making it the best Morning After!!!

Spread the love
