A cold front has hit our area and forced many of us to turn the heat on! With rising utility costs we are sometimes reluctant to turn the heat on. However, when the temperature drops below 50 degrees we feel the shift in the atmosphere and make the necessary adjustments to the change.

Having the heat on can affect us in different ways. For some of us having the heat on brings joy and happiness, yet tears and frustration to others.

Let’s look at joy and happiness:

– There is a warm and cuddling feeling when the heat is on and the lights are dim.

– There is a sense of closeness and security when the heat is on and we’re wrapped under our blanket.

– There is an innate desire to relax and perhaps read a good book with a hot cup of coffee when the heat is on.

Now to reflect on the tears and frustration we experience when the heat on gives us another perspective:

– There is a rise in our stress levels when the heat is on and our backs are against the wall.

– There is a feeling of disappointment when the heat is on and no one seems to understand us.

– There is a level of frustration when the heat is on and there’s no help in sight.

Know today that we are in the season to have the heat is on.

When we know that this is a seasonal shift in the temperature and atmosphere learn to embrace it.

Seasons change and the heat will eventually have to go off!!!

Why? Because another season is coming that will require us to lift our windows to allow a fresh wind to blow in.

The heat is on……. enjoy the warmth!!!
