Today’s topic is near and dear to my heart. I love children, and enjoy celebrating their successes. I have always been good about encouraging other children, but downplayed my children’s accomplishments. I allowed someone’s negative comments to stop me from sharing my excitement when my children excelled.
Life is too short to let what others think or say about our children’s accomplishments matter. Always celebrate your children, because they deserve it.
You should always celebrate your children because it shapes and builds their confidence. Having confidence in a world full of hate and disappointment is vital to adults more less children. Pat your child on the back, and encourage them to keep pushing for greater accomplishments. Parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, should find ways to celebrate their children, and encourage them to keep pushing forward. I remember when my son was three years old, he started reading and comprehending what he was reading. I was so excited that I shared his success with everyone I saw. Then a dream snatcher said, “just because he is reading, doesn’t mean that he is comprehending what he is reading.” As a result of the hurt, I stopped celebrating my children when they deserved to be celebrated.
Years later, I decided that they are my children to celebrate, and that I will always celebrate them, regardless of what others think or say. You too should always celebrate your children, and teach them to celebrate others.
Here are 9 tidbits on how to celebrate your children:
1. C elebrate the small things they do.
2. Embrace them for their accomplishments. 3. Lead by example with your children.
4. Enjoy the short time that you have with your children.
5. Be bold about celebrating your children.
6. Remember to speak life into your children.
7. Always tell your children how proud you are of them.
8. Train your children to celebrate others.
9. Encourage your children to be their best.
I made the mistake of allowing a dream snatcher to stop me from celebrating my son when he was young, but I did not and shall not let anyone stop me with my daughter. Celebrating her has made a world of difference in her level of confidence.
Today I always celebrate my children, my grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, students, and all!!!
