From sun up to sun down, you find yourself running around like a chicken without its head. The sound of the alarm clock wakes you from a deep sleep, only to start your daily routine over and over again. By the time your day ends, its time to call it a night. But every now and then, you have to stop in your tracks.

You have to stop in your tracks to regroup, and allow your body time to rest. You have to stop in your tracks to refresh your mind, and refocus on your goals. You have to stop in your tracks to reflect on what’s most important in your life, and regain your strength. Sometimes you have to stop in your tracksto get a new grip.

Today was one of those days for me. My summer was short this year, due to my new work schedule. As new students entered my class, I found myself back in the rat race of long days and short nights. Getting acclimated to a new schedule and highlighting page after page in my teacher’s manual calls for additional time and focus. But today, I had to stop in my tracks.

Over the years, I have learned that there are great benefits of stopping in your tracks!!!

Here are 6 tidbits to use when you stop in your tracks:

Take time to rest.

Refresh your mind.

Appreciate the stop.

Cancel your plans.

Keep yourself healthy.

Spend time with you.

Its okay to stop in your tracks when you need to break away from everything, and your body and mind is speaking to you. Listen and watch for signs that say Stop In Your Tracks!!!
